How does this interact with a person with kidney disease?
Did you get any response on the kidney disease? I have kidney issues and am not supposed to take advil or aleve etc. etc becaue of the strain it puts on my kidneys and that is why I am looking at taking this. I thought because this is all natural it would not harm my kidneys? Any info would be appreciated.
My husband has kidney issues as well and would like to know what effect Wobenzyme-N would have on his kidneys.
if you are looking for a good kidney support, check out “Kidney Cleanse” by Renew Life or Enzymatic Therapy first and then “kidney support” by Banyan Botanicals for ongoing strengthening. I wouldn’t stress kidneys without strenghthening them first, esp. if he has pain. Then start slow. gl
I have been taking Wobenzym-n for a month. I usually wake up once during the middle of the night so it’s easy to take the three tablets on an empty stomach. My dose is three tablets daily.
My problem is my blood pressure has suddenly elevated quite high, just like when I take Motrin An elevated blood pressure brings its
Sara, I too have recently expereinced a sudden elevated blood pressure after taking the Wobenzyme N product for approximately 5 days at the recommended dosage of 3 tablets, twice a day daily on an empty stomach at least 45 minutes prior to a meal. It started as general fatigue approximately 3 days ago, followed by a bounding pulse even though my pulse rate is <60bpm (resting). As noted, my blood pressure has been elevated, coupled with a "jittery" feeling, which my Dr. indicated is associated with the elevated blood pressure condition. I ams discontinuing use of this product as of today. I am a 34y.o. male, non-smoker who exercises regularly and is in reasonably good health. This is the only recent change to my diet/supplement routine (multi-vitamin, glucosimine/chondroitin, fish oil) which I recent made for the hope of minimizing muscle ache and supporting joint health. I'm going back to Ibuprofen for minor muscle inflimation.
Don’t start with 3 tablet, just start with one first. For me, I do alternate days and if I have the jitters, I skip a few days. Also, it is wise to drink a lot of water so that the toxins that the enzymes are clearing out can be flushed out better so you won’t have so much palpitations etc. I know the enzymes are cleaning out the rubbish in my body so I expect to feel weird, especially in the beginning, sometimes I even have headaches. I try to drink a quart of water in the morning with the juice of one fresh lemon added to it. Add vegetable juices for breakfast, plus a salad for lunch and you will soon feel great, but not immediately, especially if you have been taking a lot of junk in the past, start slow, maintain and press on, rest a few days from it, start slow again. The enzymes are house cleaning, so remember to drink filtered water abundantly.
Anonymus, Have you tested for gluten or dairy intolerance? Here is a good site where you can order extremely sensitive stool sample tests: http://www.enterolab.com I have sore joints when I consume dairy–especially milk. If you have leaky gut, then you might be having a blood reaction that would cause inflammation where you are genetically predisposed, (I have a brain reaction from ingesting gluten). Your reaction may be from either a sensitivity to the wobenzym itself or from the breaking up of a cluster of toxins already in your system.
Duh, it thins the blood, so your pressure will go UP
Eric, you are very rude!
blood thinners do not make blood pressure go up. they make the pressure go down.
I now take vit’s , Milk Thistle,C-q10, Tumeric,D3, Prostate health , Gluosamine/chondroitin
(Prescriptions), Lipitor, atenonol, would taking Wobenzymn be ok taken with these or should I eliminate some or all except prscriptions? Please ASP!………….Thank you
I took Wobenzym for severe back pain. It provided great relief for the back pain. However, the pain relief was accompanied with severe diarrhea and some nausea that lasted for about 2 – 3 hours. I took only 1 pill on an empty stomach and it created all that discomfort. Haven’t taken any Wobenzym since that episode, but would love to hear if there is any known way to avoid the gastric distress since the pain relief aspect was phenomenal.
Have you tried any of the zija products I have gotten great results and pain relief for my knees I have artheritis and a torn miniscus disk and it has relieved a great bit of pain, check out this web site rjharris.myzijastory.com sign in and watch the video and then inbox me
Coach! Arthritis, torn meniscus, this is exactly the issue my mother has. I have been looking for hours for something to help her, the woman is only 42 and can’t walk or stand for more than 20 minutes at a time, and its finally at the emotional breaking point. Now, as you have similar issues, can you tell me a bit more about the supplements you take to alleviate these issues? I see you mention here Zija, I have taken a look at their site and it looks very cool, but which of them is the product that has helped you?
Much thanks,
Daniel
will this help with ibs
I purchased the product on Saturday for relief of knee pain. I was so excited that I popped 3 pills as soon as I was in my car. About 30 minutes later, I knew what those side effects were. My stomach was cramping and I had severe diarrhea. After actually reading about the side effects, I decided to lower my dose to 1 tablet three times daily, until my body adjust. I have not had any more episodes since.
I just started taking Wobenzym four days ago and my blood pressure has increased dramatically. I was trying it for fibromyalgia and it did seem to help especially in my tender point, but I am going to stop taking it. It is the only new supplement that I have started so I can’t think of any other reasons for the change. Make sure and talk to your Dr. before starting new supplements and use common sense. My bloos pressure can run a little high sometimes due to anxiety, but within 4 days it went from 135/80 to 160/90. Good luck!
I forgot to add this in my post above. I also experienced gastric problems such as cramping and loose stools. My Dr. said it should not be effecting my blood pressure, but I have always been sensitive to medication and supplements.
Hi Julie. Sounds like we share the same things. I started on Wobenzym N about 2 weeks ago. I had the side effects for about 2 days. Things seemed to level out after that other than the anxiety. I have switched to one table twice a day. Perfect. Like you my body responds quickly. Very sensitive. I also started taking Wobenzym N for fibromyalgia. It does the job for pain. I also take Holy Basil for the anxiety. Have been on Holy Basil for about a year. It is wonderful for the emotional side of fibromyalgia. Thanks for sharing. Be happy and wellbeing.
I finished my first bottle of 100 count Wobenzym N taking 3 each morning for the duration. I noticed instead of diarrea, constipation, but that was only for a few days initially. The benefits were quite obvious as I no longer ached all over from the inflammation that was affecting my knees, ankles, hands and back.
Life is better and I will continue to take it.
Have been on Wobenzym N for one year for my rheumatoid. My pain and inflammation have decreased. My C-Rective Protein went from .88 to .10. My cardiologist wanted to know what I have been taking to lower my C-R Protein. I have lost weight but and eating the same amount of food. Recently, my husband wanted to get on Wobenzym-N. He has been on it for two weeks. He was feeling some aches in his upper thign area. Yesterday, he happened to take his blood pressure, It was 188/94!! It remained high all day even after taking his blood pressure medicine. After reading the above comments, he must stop taking the W. We are sorry because he was starting to loss his belly fat. Thank you
Paulette,
Consider having your husband take magnesium–you might try it, too. It is a natural vasodilator. A really good supplement is “Jigsaw Magnesium with SRT”, which you can order online. It is sustained release and so you can take a higher amount without getting loose stools.
Most people in America are magnesium deficient. You need mg to process calcium properly. It you are deficient, calcium ends up in the wrong places like clinging to artery walls, where plaque builds up in the same manner as a pearl is formed around a piece of grit in an oyster. Mg lowers blood pressure, keeps heart rhythm healthy and metabolizes calcium so that it can be used as the body intended.
I forgot to mention that mg helps with anxiety. It could be that calcium deposits were liberated by the wobenzym and caused a more dramatic imbalance.
My husband takes hypertensive medications; no blood thinners; however cautherization for a massive deudoneal ulcer in May/2011 due to NASIDS./aspirin????? Is Wobenzym N safe for him???????????????? Started out at three per day. Do not want this ulcer bleeding due to the Wobenzym. Need comments and professional replies.
It seems as though your “?” key is stuck.
I just started Wobenzym n yesterday. 5 at a time on an empty stomach twice a a day. So far no issues with gastro or blood pressure. I do feel less inflamed like when you take an Aleve. I have chronic back pain and knee pain and high blood pressure. Crossing my fingers.
ive been on wobenzyme in and out but once took aspirin for some reason. and my throat bell disappeared in one side and severe immediate colds and throat mucus. ive never been allergic to aspirin but i realized it was not to be taken with wobenzym as it says in bottle.. its deadly combination. i went to emergency rm to subdue my severe allergy and was ok after 4 hrs. i dint take aspirin ever again. and it dint happen anymre. i do take W once in awhile as my thrapist recommended it for my sport bodybldg
I know the directions state to take it on an empty stomach… Due to other complications… my stomach is rarely empty. This will probably never change.
Do you think I would receive any benefits of the supplement if taken with food? I may even need to grind or crush these tabs to get them down. I’m kinda stuck… but would love to get off of Rx anti inflammatories.
You have to take on a empty stomach or the enzymes will only “digest” the food, and won’t look for any other problems in your body. Also you have to take them whole and not broken or crushed because your breaking the coating and the enzymes won’t live long enough to be absorbed.
I am a runner and laid up with an Achilles tendon and calcification on the back of my heel. Will wobenzym help?
I have fibromyagia, and Wobenzym N was recommended to me by a seemingly knowledgable sales person at a vitamin store.
Has anyone had success decreasing tenderness and joint pain? How long did it take before seeing successs?I’m currently on a morphine medication at night as well as norco (up to 4 times daily)…as well as so many other meds I hate to think about it. (Yeah, no need for anyone to post how horrible these medications are to use…trust me I KNOW. That’s why I’m looking for alternatives.)
THANKS!
I would consider taking this as it was enthusiastically recommended by the owner or manager of a local health food store(this for inflammation related to cartilage damage in knees) but having had Crohn’s Disease and reading about the diarrhea experienced by some posters I’m hardly about to do that.
A month after my last post, glad to report that after a real commitment to an isometric exercise I found on a website, my knee arthritis has improved substantially. So I have no need for ANY supplement that has glucosamine, chondroitin, enzymes, etc. If it works for others though, that’s great.
My chiropractor recommended these as he takes it himself (avid mountain biker/adventure seeker takes big spill off mountain). I finally picked up a the Wobenzyme P version a few weeks ago and I must state that there has been remarkable improvement in my knee. Side affect Diarrahea but it did stop after a few days.
Wobenzyme N has worked fairly well with me thus far. I have lupus, and a condition called, “D.I.S.H.” I look healthy as a horse, but have some chronic pain due to the lupus and joint conditions. So, I started taking this product and it helps a lot. I started out taking 3 morning and 3 late night dosages, so it was too much for my system. I had diaheria for a few days, but it seems to be getting better now. Other than that, no real problems. I take warfarrin, so I have to be careful…………..and my doctor hasn’t said much about these two drugs being taken together. My bloodpressure has actually been lower since starting Wobenzyme N.
I’ve been taking Wobenzym-N 15 pills per day, 5 in the morning, 5 at lunch, 5 in the evening along with a Moringa product called Zija. I was told to take this by product formulator Russ Bianchi.
is now virtually non existence (pain level 1). Please note it takes 1 to 2 months to see ANY results on the neuropathy. But it works!!!!!
It is reversing my Insulin Type II diabetes and my peripheral neuropathy (pain level
I tore my rotator cuff back in January 2011, I was in pain for 6 months straight – hardly any sleep. I tried wobenzyme and had 0 pain after taking 5-10 tablets 45min before lunch and supper for 2 weeks. Now I use it on and off and still have 0 pain. I do eat organic/natural foods, no chemicals anywhere in my house or on my body. I did however have one reaction with this product – my clausterphobia tripled at times especially at night in bed – I could never sleep with my head flat, I always had to be supported by a large fluffy pillow. Other than that I feel awesome with this product. I think people need to realize that it is all about your digestion and stress. Many things I’ve read about the blood pressure/heart palpitations all have to do with the stool backed up in their gut and the enzymes trying to push it out. One great quote “You are what you eat” I had to learn that the hard way 8 years ago with colon cancer. had 2-3 months to live….went the natural route and in 6 months was cancer free with the right diet and excellent Naturopathic doctor. Please look at what you eat before anything else. I read a great book that was very helpful “Eat right for your blood type” – excellent read and it worked for me. Best Wishes.
I have been on Wobenzyn N for 1 week and get a dry mouth and upset stomach. Now I have read if you are allergic to wheat, which I am I should not be taking it. Anyone else with wheat sensitivities have any issues?
This product is gluten free and dairy free.
Hi! Are most of you taking the Garden of Life Wobenzym or the Mucos Pharma? I’ve been taking 3 of the Garden of Life Brand a day for about a month and have noticed a slight difference. I eat 25 fruits and veggies a day, so I’m getting awesome nutrition. I just have a slight problem with carpal tunnel that I’m trying to rectify. Also, have a great chripractor.
oops, chiropractor.
As I wrote in several posts back, this product shouldn’t be taken by someone with an inflammatory bowel condition(ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s Disease) since diarrhea is ALREADY a symptom of those illnesses and it would be unwise to aggravate the problem with Wobenzym.
I’m on first week of taking wobenzym N 3 tabs 2x a day for my knee pain. After reading all the reviews some noticed their blood pressure went up.It never came to my mind that wobenzym N is the reason that my blood pressure is high these few days. For the past months without hypertensive pills I felt good and my BP is very normal.Does this mean wobenzym N is not for me?
Thank you.I urgently need a reply!
Why don’t you do what I just did for knee pain?(of course I acknowledge yours might be more involved or serious than mine). I have chondromalacia patella or arthritis of the kneecap so I went to a medical supply place and for all of twenty bucks purchased a “knee strap”. Wear it most of the day, esp. for the left knee which has more cartilage damaged from rubbing the ground too much years ago when I should have worn knee pads for my work. But the results have been excellent, this after about a week or so.
Thank you for the suggestion.. Since there are many kinds of knee strap can you be more specific what kind?
Yes, on the end of the strap the label says Cho-Pat Knee Strap. It’s tan in color and available in different sizes.
BTW, it’s called the “Original Knee Strap” and you can google about it, even order it online.
Ok, i’ve been taking 3 a day for the 1st couple days. My body reacted w/ diarhea and nausea. So I started taking 2/day, and still got the same results. So I started taking 2 every other day- still same results. I have t1 diabetes and noticed that my sugars are more in control. I also eat less, but that is probably an effect of feeling nausea and seeing all food as blaaa- I just wanna throw up. I think I lost like 5 pounds. What if I’m actually pregnant? Yet, I don’t think you can be full blow nausea a week before your period is due. I like this supplement, but my morning nausea is annoying.
Best to consult your doc in a case like this.
Took Wobenzym N (started with only two pills) and felt jittery and anxious soon after. My blood pressure went up and I suffered from a headache for most of the day. I felt bad all day due to the anxiety and head ache. I will not take this product again. I am very sensitive to all drugs and am sure that I am sensitive to this product too. I am sure it works well for some, just not me.
From what I’m reading about all these adverse side effects, they should be posted on the bottle. People need to know the risk they’re taking with these kinds of things.
Has anyone used this product to alleviate tendon injuries? I have a bad case of tendonitis and healing is taking forever. I am considering using this product.
I am scheduled for colon re-section next Tuesday to remove a stricture of scar tissue which has been forming and narrowing over 10 years.
Upon consulting about the use of Serrapeptase it was suggested I use Wobenzyme post surgically as an anti-inflammatory. (The person I spoke with had not heard about Serrapeptase/Serratia).
I picked up a bottle of Wobenzym N, Garden of Life, and decided to start taking it ahead of time to get a sense of my body’s response. I followed the “3 at a time on an empty stomach”, once a day for three days
with sudden, immediate , pretty severe consequences until I could no longer bear the continual cramping, bloating, diarrhea, and I stopped. I was puzzled and scared. Symptoms continued another day or so until I took a dose of milk of magnesia and had some relief. A week later I am fine but my “gut” still tender. My diverticulosis never made me feel THIS bad.
So now, today, I’m reading here about side effects and have decided it wouldn’t be a good idea to subject my colon to such activity when it’s trying to heal. I wish I had become aware sooner, with enough time to ease into taking Wobenzym N as it still sounds very promising.
I would very much like to hear more about the comparison between the Garden of Life product as opposed to the Mucos/Douglas Labs product. The ingredients are listed as identical.
[I have been taking Serratia Peptidase Enzyme (90,000 units) for 5 days with no ill effects].
I will be grateful for comments on my posting.
Thank you all for your contributions to this blog.
I have AVN ( Bone death top of femur in hip joint ) in my right hip anyone out there who has had it and used Wobe-N ? Results ?
